Nobody wants to think about the possibility of encountering an "active shooter", but after hundreds of mass shootings nationwide; we all know it is a real possibility wherever we go.

That's why so many schools, churches, and other organizations have been offering ALICE training (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) for quite some time.

But, at the University of Akron, while the intent is the same–staying alive in the face of a heavily armed assailant; the type of training is slightly different, and tailored to an adult audience.
