People who live in Akron and surrounding communities might be seeing brown, discolored water coming out of their taps this week, as the City of Akron flushes out fire hydrants, to evaluate them for fire operations..
As a result, the city is urging residents not to use the discolored water for cooking or washing clothes until they’ve flushed the discoloration from their water lines by letting the water run until clear.
Communities that will be affected by the hydrant flushing include Akron, Bath, Coventry, Fairlawn, Hudson, Mogadore, Montrose, and other water retail service areas.
