Written by

For the second time in the last couple of months; somebody was held up at gunpoint and carjacked outside the Lucky Corner Bar at 1350 W Waterloo Rd, in Akron.

Police say they are investigating, and are not sure whether or not the two crimes are related.

The first one was on Tuesday, March 21, and involved three men wearing masks who held up two men and stole their Mercedes Benz, at about 4:30PM.

Three juvenile suspects were arrested a few days later in connection with that holdup; two 17 year olds , and one 15-year old. In addition, an Akron Police officer was slightly injured during the arrest.

The latest incident happened this past Saturday, May 6, at about 2:00PM. Police say a 68 year old man was getting into his vehicle, when a man ordered him out of it, hit him in the head several times, and then took off in his 2015 Nissan Altima.

Police say they found the vehicle abandoned early Sunday morning, near the intersection of Kohler Avenue and Hope Street.

The carjacking suspect is described as black male, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with a medium build. Police say he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and had a mask covering his face.
