Carjackers Arrested, Akron Police Officer Injured Featured

Akron Police say they have arrested three juvenile male suspects; two 17 year olds, and one 15-year old, on charges related to carjacking two men in the parking lot of the Lucky Corner Bar on West Waterloo Road on Tuesday, March 21st, and taking off in their Mercedes Benz.

Police say they spotted the stolen car about 12:15 this morning, near the intersection of Baird Street and Talbot Avenue, and began pursuing it when the driver failed to pull over. 

They say the car "rolled into" a parked car in the 2200 block of 7 th Street S.W. in Kenmore, three people bailed out and ran away on foot, and they caught two of them, both age 17, right away. But they add, that during the arrest; one of the suspects resisted, got wrestled to the ground, and dropped a handgun.

A few minutes later, they found a 15 year old hiding across the street, in possession of what they say was another handgun; this one, stolen.

Now, they're all in the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center, on charges related to weapons, and Obstructing Official Business. One of the 17 year olds is also charged with Resisting Arrest.

In addition, police report that one officer was slightly injured during the arrest, but was treated, and released from the hospital.
