We travel east this morning and head to Tallmadge High School, where we are introduced to two Blue Devils. Darin Hudak is a monster on the links. As a senior, he is a four-time All-Suburban League first-teamer, and recently took home the 2020 Suburban League American Conference Player of the Year honors. He holds the school record for lowest nine-hole score (32) as well as season average (36.1), and carried a 72.9 league average in 2020. In the classroom, Darin is a member of the National Honors Society and maintains an astounding 4.4 GPA, and he’ll head to Bowling Green State University next fall. Kelsie Horner is also a senior and a three-year letter winner on the Blue Devil volleyball team. She is a co-captain on the squad, and this year she surpassed 1,000 career digs for Tallmadge. Academically, Kelsie carries a 4.12 GPA and will head down the street to Kent State University in 2021 to study sports medicine. The Student Athlete of the Week report is powered by NECA-IBEW and Akron Children’s Hospital.
