We stay in the city of Akron this week, where we are introduced to a couple of Buchtel Griffins. Trayonna James keeps her schedule busy in the fall season, as she is a cheerleader and on the track team. She is a natural athlete wherever she goes, whether it’s on the track and sidelines, as well as the classroom, where she holds a 4.1 GPA. Outside the confines of Buchtel, she also works part-time. Dylan West is a senior kicker on the Griffins’ football team, and he has built quite the resume for himself: He has been named to the All-City, All-District, and All-State teams, is a two-time MVP, and he also wrestles in the winter and plays baseball during the spring. Not only is Dylan a star athlete, he’s a star in the classroom, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. He will continue his education at Howard University. The Student Athlete of the Week report is powered by NECA-IBEW and Akron Children’s Hospital.
