It was a day of swimming for a good cause as the Firestone High School Swim Team spent this past Saturday at their 35th Annual Marathon swim titled “Kids Helping Kids.”

News 5 reports that Saturday’s event kicked off at 6am and ran till 6pm, raising money for both the swim team and Akron Children’s Hospital. During October and November, student athletes collected donations with the goal of each getting $200 for the campaign.

Over the years the campaign has raised more than $198,000 for the hospital and the team was excited to cross the threshold of $200,000 this year, calling it a big milestone.
