Canton Police officers shot and killed a 41-year-old man Wednesday night, with officers saying they were responding to a disturbance and that they returned fire after the suspect shot at them.

It happened a little after 10pm in the 300 block of 25th Street SW in Canton. Sources tell Fox 8 News that the suspect fled from officers on foot and the police added in a statement that they returned fire after being fired upon.

Fox 8 reports that a Canton Police officer was grazed by a bullet in the shooting and the suspect was seriously injured and later died.

The Canton Police, Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation were all on the scene of the shooting early this morning.
