A 17-year-old was arrested in Canton Monday afternoon after fleeing from an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper and crashing his car into a utility pole.

The Canton Repository reports that the teen was clocked going 72 miles-per-hour in a 35 mile-per-hour zone. A trooper pursued the boy's car as he fled north on Trump Ave. As he approached Mahoning Ave., the boy's car swerved to avoid incoming traffic and struck a pole. After a short pursuit on foot the boy was arrested.

He’s been charged with fleeing, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of marijuana, as well as traffic violations and is currently booked at the Faircrest Juvenile Attention Center in Canton Township.
