Crawford was shot and killed in her car alongside her grandmother in broad daylight at the stoplight at North Howard and North Street in Akron back on June 14th , 2020, just days after she graduated from North High School.

Two others, Jaion Bivins of Akron and Janisha George of Tallmadge were initially charged in relation to the murder, but those charges were dismissed without prejudice, meaning prosecutors can still bring charges against them at a later date.

According to the US Marshals Service, Black was living in Atlanta under a fake name. At the time he was taken into custody, he was in possession of an AR-style rifle. He's awaiting extradition now from Georgia back to Ohio.
