The Student Athlete of the Week segment is powered by NECA-IBEW and Akron Children’s Hospital. 

This week's athletes are from Mogadore High School.

McKenna Whitehead is a senior and a 4 - year letterman in Basketball and 2 - year co-captain. Her accomplishments include All-PTC - First Team, NEO All-Inland District DIII Honorable Mention, and OHSBCA Silver Academic Award. McKenna is also a 3 - year letter winner in softball, with accomplishments such as All PTC - First Team, and NEO All-Inland District DIV - Honorable Mention. McKenna is as excellent in the classroom as well with a 3.6 GPA. 

Mason Williams is a senior and a 2 time 1st team All PTC basketball player. He is also a 4 year letterman in football and will be in basketball. This fall he was named Defensive Player of the year in football in the PTC and All NEO Inland District Division VI. He is a Ohio University football recruit. In baseball he has earned All PTC his first 3 years and will be a 4 year letter winner. Mason is an excelled student as well, with a 4.6 GPA. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the Principal's Advisory Council.
