For our Student Athlete of the Week program, we head up Route 8 and go to Stow-Munroe Falls High School. Paige Klingensmith is a sophomore at Stow, and has had quite a track-and-field season in 2021. She had an excellent week for the team in a victory over North Royalton in the dual meet, as well as at the Invitational Nordonia on Saturday. During the North Royalton meet, Paige won the 100m hurdles, the 300m hurdles, and was a member of the winning 4x400m relay, scoring a team-high of 11.25 points. In the classroom, she carries a 4.056 GPA. Brandon Beck has been fantastic on the baseball diamond this season. He is hitting .500 on the season, and has done everything from hitting to running to even pitching. He won an honarable mention in the All Suburban League in 2019, and has also been solid on the golf course, as well, earling an All-District honrable mention in 2019 and was named to the second team All-Suburban League in 2020. Off the grass, Brandon has volunteered with Firestone Country Club and Silver Lake Food Bank every Friday during the summer, and is an employee at Fox Den Golf Course. Next year Brandon will be continuing his Education at Walsh University and will be a member of the golf team. The Student Athlete of the Week segment is powered by NECA-IBEW and Akron Children’s Hospital.
