Feds Bust Ohio House Speaker for Alleged Bribery Featured

Written by

Ohio's Republican Speaker of the House, Larry Householder, one of his advisors, the former head of the Ohio Republican Party, and two lobbyists have been arrested on Federal charges alleging they took $60 million dollars in bribes to push a billion dollar bailout through the legislature, that propped up unprofitable nuclear and coal-fired plants owned by what was then known as FirstEnergy Solutions, and now known as Energy Harbor.

Akron-based First Energy has released a statement saying they have received subpoenas, are reviewing the details, and intend to fully cooperate.

Despite calls from both Republican and Democratic leaders statewide though; Householder says he's not going to resign.
