Want to know what’s happening in your neighborhood, without scrolling through social media rumors? The Stark County Sheriff’s Office has launched a new feature in its mobile app designed to give residents a clearer picture of local public safety activity.
It’s called Stark County Citizens Connect, and it allows users to look up general incident information, things like traffic crashes, disturbances, suspicious activity, or theft reports, within a selected area and time frame.
There’s a built-in safeguard: all information is posted with a 24-hour delay. And what you’ll see is intentionally limited, just the type of incident, the date, and an approximate location. No names, no arrest details, and no sensitive information. Certain incidents, including sexual offenses and narcotics investigations, are not displayed at all.
Sheriff Eric Weisburn says the goal is transparency without compromising privacy or ongoing investigations.
The app is free and available on both iPhone and Android systems. Just search “Stark Sheriff Ohio.” If you already have the app, update it to access this new feature.
