This week our 1590 WAKR Female Student Athlete of the Week is Sicilia Ho, a senior golfer for Wadsworth High School.
She got into golf at an early age, with encouragement from her dad and two older sisters.
“They played college golf and it runs in the family now, so that’s how I got into it,” she says.
She says she learned her competitive nature from them, something she takes out on the course with her.
“We always tried to improve one another, but it’s always nice to beat one of them, “she said with a laugh.
Coach Michael Schmeltzer said her success is largely in part due to her coach.
“Sicilia is one of the hardest working student-athletes I have had the privilege to coach,” he said.
“She has a great future ahead of her both academically, and in women's golf. She is a true role model. “
Upon graduation in the spring, she plans on studying mechanical engineering.
In addition to her golf at Wadsworth, she serves as President of the National Honor Society, Key Club, and Student Council Secretary, among other activities and clubs
We wish Sicilia the best in all of her future endeavors
