Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with a violent incident in the 100 block of South Maple Street in West Akron early Sunday morning.
Akron Police say when they responded to a call about shots fired, they found two cars wrecked into a wall near the fire station, and that a 29 year old woman who had been driving one of them said someone she didn’t know had been chasing and shooting at her.
The other car was empty, but police say they followed footprints in the snow, and tracked down the 32 year old man who had been driving it, as well as a couple of handguns he had apparently hidden in some bushes along the way.
No shell casings or evidence of anything being struck by bullets were found at the scene, and no one was hurt.
Now, the suspect, D’Angelo Gordon, has been charged with Tampering with Evidence, Illegal Conveyance/Possession of a Weapon, Weapons Under Disability, and Endangering Children.
The female victim of the attack, though, has also been charged with a crime; Obstruction of Official Business. Police allege she wasn’t truthful when they questioned her about the incident.
