With another big “heat dome” on the way through Ohio later this week; temperatures are going to skyrocket, and your garden is going to need some extra water.

But water costs a lot of money–especially here in Akron– where we’re not only paying our regular water bills each month, but also a hefty surcharge for the city’s $1.2 billion dollar, EPA- mandated sewer improvement project.

So, how about an alternative (or at least, additional) way to water your garden that will help you save money by harnessing rain water to nurture native Ohio plants?

To find out how; listen to my conversation with Amy Roskilly from the Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservancy District, where they are offering a class on how you can become a “Master Rain Gardener“, starting August 8.
