A Summit County man will spend years in prison after being convicted on multiple drug trafficking charges connected to a fatal overdose in Cuyahoga Falls.

Summit County Prosecutors say Dylan Bond, 29, of Marshallville, was sentenced to spend up to 13 years after pleading guilty to trafficking fentanyl-related drugs and supplying narcotics that led to the overdose death of 47-year-old Jaclyn Ballard. His driver’s license was also suspended for three years.

The case began in December 2024 when first responders found Ballard unresponsive at a Shannon Avenue home. The Medical Examiner later determined she died from a lethal mix of fentanyl, methamphetamine, amphetamine, and oxycodone.

Using evidence from Ballard’s phone, investigators arranged a controlled drug buy with Bond. When he arrived, officers attempted to stop him, but he fled on foot before being quickly arrested. Police recovered more than 32 grams of fentanyl mixed with other drugs, over 14 grams of meth, cash, and a firearm.

Bond had also led officers on a high-speed chase a month earlier through Wayne County, Norton, and Akron.

His co-defendant, Madalyn Copley, 26, pleaded guilty to multiple drug possession charges and is scheduled to be sentenced April 15.

The prosecutor’s office called the case a tragic reminder of the deadly consequences of drug trafficking and offered condolences to Ballard’s family.
