For our Student Athlete of the Week program, we head to the Magic City of Barberton. An’Taniyha Easter is a three-year letter winner on the Magic basketball team, and is a quiet leader both on and off the court. She is the point guard for the team, averaging close to ten points per game, and played a key role her entire high school career, especially her freshman season off the bench. In the classroom, An’Taniyha carries a 3.4 GPA. Joseph Berlin plays soccer in the fall, but is a fixture at the bowling alley in the colder months. While Barberton’s bowling team is young, he takes it upon himself to be the leader of the squad, almost becoming an assistant coach of some sorts. In soccer, he has been a starting defender the last two seasons. He has a 4.1 GPA in the classroom. The Student Athlete of the Week segment is powered by NECA-IBEW and Akron Children’s Hospital.
