For our Student Athlete of the Week program, we head maybe a mile behind the Akron Radio Center studios to Firestone CLC and meet a couple of Falcons. Mia Nagle is a swimmer for the Falcons, and she excels in both on land and in the water. She is a two-time class MVP in swimming, a two-time Futures Championship finalist, two-time Northeast Aquatic Conference all-star, and a four-time member of the All Ohio team. She is also a 2020 Scholastic All American, a member of the National Honors Society, a 2019 Business Professionals of America Award Winner, and carried a 5.0 GPA her junior year. Sophomore Jonny Marshall is not an Akron lifer, as he has duel citizenship with the United Kingdom. But if he needs to head back, he can easily swim there. Jonny set the United States Central Time Zone record for the 100 back, and has both qualified for and swam in both the junior nationals and the US Open. He was also a member of the British junior national team, and he hopes to swim in the Olympic trials in the spring. In his down time, Jonny plays the guitar, rides his bike, and plays a little golf.
