The number of drug overdose deaths rose by nearly 30 percent in the US last year, compared to 2019, to a record high of 93,000.
Experts are calling that increase "historic", and attributing it to factors including the pandemic, as well the ever growing supply of the synthetic opiod drug, fentanyl.
