The Ohio High School Athletic Association has released its girls and boys basketball Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) rankings, now available on the OHSAA website through MaxPreps.
The RPI rankings update daily as final scores are entered into the MaxPreps system and will once again be used to determine postseason tournament seeding across Ohio. The 2025–26 season marks the third year the RPI system has been used for statewide basketball tournament draws.
The RPI formula is based on:
40% team winning percentage
40% opponents’ winning percentage
20% opponents’ opponents’ winning percentage
Tournament draw dates are approaching, with girls basketball draws beginning February 8 and boys basketball draws beginning February 15, depending on division. Final score-reporting deadlines vary by division, with final RPI data available the day after each deadline.
Schools are reminded that winning teams are responsible for entering scores into MaxPreps, including games against out-of-state opponents when necessary.
