Two Ohio Army National Guard engineering units are preparing to deploy overseas Sunday in support of U.S. military operations.

About five soldiers from Engineer Advisor Team 6522, part of the 5th Battalion, 54th Security Force Assistance Regiment, will deploy in support of U.S. Central Command. Roughly 10 soldiers from the 296th Engineer Detachment will deploy under U.S. European Command.

During the deployment, Engineer Advisor Team 6522 will conduct security cooperation and training missions, working with U.S. allies to support regional stability and military readiness.

The 296th Engineer Detachment will provide specialized emergency and safety services, including fire prevention, aircraft crash rescue, hazardous materials response, and wildfire suppression within its assigned area of operations.

Ohio National Guard officials say the deployments are part of routine overseas missions supporting U.S. forces and international partners.
