Great news for history buffs, students, and really, anyone else who wants to explore the roots of Akron, as there is a new book out now, called “Akron at 200”.
The 427 page publication is available now, as the city celebrates its Bicentennial, through the University Of Akron bookstore.
The 27 chapter anthology is published by the University Of Akron Press, and sponsored by the city of Akron.
It has 26 authors, who were recruited for the project by David Lieberth, Executive Secretary of the Akron Bicentennial Commission, and who served as Editor of the compilation along with Dr. Jon Miller, Director of the University of Akron press.
Miller describes the book as one that “does not pretend to be a comprehensive history.” Instead, Miller says it goes in depth on “subjects that have not been written about so much”, and that it has “something for everyone to read and enjoy.”
