A man who had been reported missing earlier this month was found dead Saturday morning in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, according to park officials.

National Park Service rangers found the body of Michael Vangelas, 42, around 11 a.m. on Jan. 24 in the Brandywine Falls area of the park.

The Summit County Coroner’s Office will investigate the cause of death, which has not yet been released.

Earlier this week, park officials asked for the public’s help in locating Vangelas after he entered the park on Jan. 14, driving a white car with Louisiana license plates. Following a snowstorm, his vehicle was found abandoned at the Brandywine Falls trailhead, prompting a search-and-rescue effort by park rangers, emergency crews, K9s and drones.

That search continued over several days and ultimately led to Saturday’s discovery.

Park officials say no additional information will be released at this time.
