An 18 year old Akron man, and a 20 year old man from Toledo are now in police custody, in connection with the alleged armed robbery of a postal carrier in the 700 block of Cordova Avenue, on Tuesday.

Police say they demanded that the carrier give them a key to open mail boxes, and then sped away in their vehicle. 

But, after recieving a tip that the suspects had parked behind a nearby apartment building; police say they found the suspects walking away, tried to stop them, and then chased them down on foot. Along the way, they allege that they found a backpack that contained a firearm, as well as the postal carrier’s arrow key, which is used to unlock mailboxes.

The suspect from Akron, 18 year old Aarynn Rogers, is charged with Aggravated Robbery, and 20 year old Dennis Harris, who is facing felony charges in Lucas county for an unrelated offense, is charged with Obstruction of Justice. Both are now being held in the Summit County Jail.
