From Lyndhurst to the Super Bowl skies. A northeast Ohio native will help deliver one of the most iconic moments of Super Bowl Sunday.

Petty Officer 1st Class Justin Martin, a Lyndhurst native and Brush High School graduate, is part of the U.S. Navy team supporting the flyover during the national anthem at Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8 in Santa Clara, California.

Martin serves as an aviation electronics technician with a Navy fighter squadron, working behind the scenes to ensure aircraft are safe, ready, and mission-capable. The eight-aircraft flyover will include Navy and Air Force jets, showcasing the teamwork that makes moments like this possible.

Though the jets take center stage, Martin says it’s the dedication on the ground that makes it all happen.

“Participating in this event means turning dedication into action,” Martin said, calling the experience a reflection of pride, commitment, and teamwork.

Now 12 years into his Navy career, Martin credits his hometown values for shaping who he is today, and says serving in moments like this reminds him why he chose to serve in the first place.
