Akron Public Schools are partnering once again with Stark State College. The district announced Friday that Stark State will be the sister college for Akron East High School. Stark State is currently partnered with Garfield Community Learning Center as well.
The partnerships are designed to encourage high school students to continue into higher education with hands-on, technical training like welding, as well as traditional academic college courses.
Lada Gibson-Shreve the Provost at Stark State told the Akron Beacon that Stark is proud to deepen their partnership with Akron schools. Gibson-Shreve added that Stark wants “to be a part of helping every student that is here with your future, regardless of what that might be.”
