An officer involved shooting in Macedonia is being investigated by the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigators. 

The shooting occurred at the Burlington Store on East Aurora Road. Witnesses tell Channel 19 News that the shooting was the result of an escalating situation, after police approached a man suspected of shoplifting. Shoppers added that store employees rushed them into a back room to hide when the shots rang out.

Officials haven’t provided details on the circumstances of the shooting yet, but say that the suspect who was shot was taken to the hospital. The officer involved is said to be “okay but shaken up.”
