Seven Arrested in Connection to Missing Akron Man Featured

Wadsworth Police have arrested seven people in connection to the disappearance and murder of Iron Jailen Cannon, 27, of Akron, who was last seen at a party in Wadsworth last year. 

According to the press release from Wadsworth Police, Cannon went missing from a home in the city the night of October 18th, 2020. Police say that the evidence they have collected since then clearly points to the fact that Cannon was murdered and his body disposed of. 

Police are calling it an "intricate cover-up, which consisted of significant efforts to mislead law enforcement." The press release went on to say that the efforts of the people charged in the case "included the destruction of and tampering with evidence, including Mr. Cannon's remains." 

The following individuals have been charged: 

Justin D. Hornbeck, 28, of  Uniontown - Charged with murder with a firearm specification, tampering with evidence, gross abuse of a corpse, and more. 

Tyrone L. Render, 27, of Wooster - Charged with Tampering with evidence with a firearm specification, obstructing justice, gros abuse of a corpse, and more.  

Autumn M. Knight, 32, of Akron - Charged with Tampering with evidence with a firearm specification, obstructing justice, gros abuse of a corpse, and more.

Marcus Y. Clark, 55, of Akron - Charged with Tampering with evidence with a firearm specification, obstructing justice, gros abuse of a corpse, and more.

Christopher J. Williams, 32, of Akron - Charged with Tampering with evidence with a firearm specification, obstructing justice, gros abuse of a corpse, and more.

Samantha P. McCune, 27, of Uniontown - Charged with obstruction of justice. 

Antonio W. Moore, 38, of Akron - Charged with obstruction of justice. 

The Wadsworth Police Department went on to say that the investigation into the death of Iron Cannon is ongoing, and that certain details cannot be made public at this time, adding that they are "committed to bringing closure to Iron's family, and will continue to search for Iron's remains."
