In an address to the state Tuesday morning, Governor Mike DeWine announced that Ohioans aged 40 and up and those with certain types of health conditions will be eligible to recieve the vaccine as of Friday, March 19th.
Also announced Tuesday, Ohioans aged 16 and older will be eligible for the vaccine starting March 29th.
The governor speaking from Cleveland State's Wolstein Center, the first mass vaccination site operational in Ohio.
Tuesday was a "soft launch" for the CSU site, as Ohio Army National Guardsmen were there administering vaccines to roughly 1,500 eligible Ohioans. By Wednesday, the FEMA-run site is expected be vaccinating 3,000 Ohioans per day, and then 6,000 by the weekend.
