UPDATED: Akron Police are continuing their effort to get illegal guns off the streets and out of the hands of criminals.
With that, the Anti-Violence Bureau, Akron SWAT, and the ATF served two search warrants Tuesday morning at homes along Tioga Avenue and Clearfield Avenue in the city. The warrants were part of a drug investigation and lead to the seizure of multiple weapons and drugs, including 150 grams of suspected fentanyl and ecstacy pills. Also, nearly a thousand dollars cash was seized.
One man, 28-year-old Gary Jones was arrested at the Clearfield residence on an unrelated probation violation warrant.
At the home on Tioga Avenue, police arrested 44-year-old DeShane Stafford and 29-year-old Kevin Lidge (pictured above). Both men are charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Fentanyl and Weapons Under Disability.
Both men have been booked in Summit County Jail.
