Thanks to an influx of cash from Summit County; the City of Akron now has 100 new security cameras in neighborhoods surrounding the University.
This was in response to student safety concerns, and addressed with some funding related to the County’s big fiber ring project, which is tying government agencies, cities, and municipalities together throughout the county, with a high speed fiber network.
We talked about how the new cameras are working, and what kind of impact they’re having on security in the area, with University of Akron Police Chief, Jim Gilbride.
