The National Weather Service has issued another heat advisory; this one in effect until 8PM tonight.
You can expect temperatures throughout Northeast Ohio to reach 92, with a heat index value of between 99 and 102 degrees.
The highest heat index values are expected west of Interstate 77 and in urban areas across northern Ohio. This includes the Toledo, Cleveland, Akron-Canton, and Youngstown metro areas.
Tips for beating the heat include:
- Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
- Take extra precautions when outside.
- Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing.
- Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
- Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
