Community Action Akron Summit is offering free tax preparation and filing this season for eligible Summit County residents through the Akron Summit Earned Income Tax Program.

The program helps residents determine if they qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit, which can reduce tax bills or result in refunds. Services are provided by IRS-certified volunteers, and more than 86,000 returns have been completed since the program began.

Appointments can be scheduled by calling 234-206-3170 or visiting app.capappointments.com/EITC. Services are available at Community Action Akron Summit on West Exchange Street and Ohio Means Jobs on East Tallmadge Avenue.
