Habitat for Humanity of Summit County is hosting a free Safety Kit Drive-Thru Event for eligible Akron seniors on Monday, Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Habitat offices at 2301 Romig Road.
The event is open to Akron residents 62 and older who meet income eligibility requirements, specifically, households earning below 80% of the Summit County median family income, based on 2025 HUD guidelines. Participants must complete an application before receiving a kit. Applications are available HERE and can be filled out at the office.
Staff will load the safety kits directly into each participant’s vehicle. Kits include a laundry basket, fire safe, fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector, tool kit, EMS magnet, first aid kit, flashlight, and educational safety materials.
Supplies are limited and available while they last.
