He took a $1,000 dollar bribe, with the promise of another $1,000 after the deal was done, but got caught along the way.

That’s the word from Federal Proscutors, who say 40 year old former Corrections Officer, James P. Jackson of Cleveland, was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison, after pleading guilty to taking bribes from a prisoner’s girlfriend to smuggle packages for her boyfriend, into Ohio’s Trumbull Correctional Institution (TCI), in Leavittsburg.

Investigators from the FBI, DEA, Trumbull Correctional Institution, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol collaborated on the case, and found the packages contained drugs including a synthetic cannabinoid compound, methamphetamine, and phencyclidine (also known as PCP, or Angel Dust), as well as a cellphone, and SIM cards.
