The Cleveland Browns have named Todd Monken as the 19th head coach in franchise history, bringing an experienced offensive mind back to Cleveland.

Monken, 59, previously served as the Browns’ offensive coordinator in 2019 and most recently led one of the NFL’s top offenses as offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens. Under Monken, the Ravens finished with the No. 1 offense in the NFL and quarterback Lamar Jackson earned an MVP award.

This marks Monken’s first NFL head coaching job after more than a decade in the league and nearly four decades of coaching experience overall. Browns ownership and team executives praised Monken’s leadership, player development, and ability to build productive offenses at both the professional and college levels.

Monken has also coached successful offenses at Georgia, helping the Bulldogs win back-to-back national championships, and previously worked with teams such as Tampa Bay, where his offenses set multiple franchise records.
