Chick-fil-A is celebrating a major milestone in 2026: 80 years since the company first started cooking, and the restaurant chain is inviting customers to take part in a yearlong anniversary celebration filled with nostalgia, new menu items, and chances to win free food.

The celebration, called “Newstalgia,” officially kicked off Monday (Jan. 5), blending throwback touches with modern perks. Customers will notice retro-inspired packaging for the Original Chicken Sandwich, collectible cups, and new beverages joining the permanent menu.

Among the biggest additions are Frosted Sodas and Floats, made with Chick-fil-A’s signature Icedream dessert. Frosted Sodas blend Icedream with popular fountain drinks like Coca-Cola, Dr Pepper, Sprite, and more, while Floats layer soda and Icedream for a classic, fizzy treat.

The anniversary celebration also includes a sweepstakes inspired by Willy Wonka-style surprises. Chick-fil-A is rolling out $3.99 Classic Cups, each wrapped so customers can’t see the design inside. Hidden among them are 3,000 Gold Fan Cups, which award winners 52 free entrees, roughly a year of Chick-fil-A meals. Winners simply scan a QR code to claim their prize. The promotion runs through July 1, while supplies last.

Cows, long the brand’s mascot, will play a starring role throughout the year. Specialty Plush Cow toys, priced at $9.99, will be sold in restaurants, with additional cow-themed merchandise available online. Chick-fil-A is also bringing back Cow Appreciation Day this summer, along with the return of the beloved Cow Calendar, now updated with a digital component in the Chick-fil-A app.

Company leaders say the goal is to celebrate customers in a way that feels both familiar and fresh, honoring the past while creating new moments fans will remember long after the anniversary year ends.
