Akron Fire is now investigating a blaze at the University of Akron Police Department, which occurred a little after 2:30 Friday afternoon.

Akron Fire Public Information Officer, Tawanna Young, says the roof was on fire when they arrived, and they helped some construction workers who were up there, get down safely.

Fire crews also found some additional construction workers inside the building, at 146 Hill Street, and advised them to shelter in place while they called in a Metro bus for warming, and to assist fire crews and building occupants.

No one was hurt though, and University Police operations have not been disrupted.
