While inflation has slowed nationwide, rent prices continue to keep household costs high, including in the Akron area.
A new analysis from Construction Coverage shows the median monthly rent in the Akron metro is $1,394, with three-bedroom units averaging $1,678 and four-bedroom units reaching $1,823. While Akron rents remain about 27% below the national median, housing costs continue to outpace overall inflation.
Researchers say higher rents help explain why many renters aren’t feeling financial relief, even as vacancy rates rise and rent growth slows nationally.
