The Akron Police Department and the Summit County Medical Examiner are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Sunday night in Akron.

Police were called to a home in the 1000 block of Elwell Court just after 10 p.m. Sunday, where they found a man on the front porch suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner has identified the victim as 29-year-old Lenard Owens from Akron. Officials say the cause of death was a gunshot wound to his neck. His death has been ruled a homicide.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police have not released information about suspects.
