Kent State University’s online graduate programs are receiving national recognition from U.S. News & World Report, with several programs ranking among the best in the country.

In the 2026 Best Online Programs rankings, Kent State placed in four categories: online master’s programs in nursing, education, business, and MBA programs. Three of those programs ranked within the top 100 nationally among both public and private institutions.

Kent State’s online master’s in nursing program ranked No. 62 nationally, making it the top-ranked program of its kind in northern Ohio. The university’s online master’s in education programs ranked No. 64, while the online master’s in business programs ranked No. 76, also the highest in northern Ohio. Kent State’s online MBA program ranked No. 127, leading all public institutions in northeast Ohio.

University leaders say the rankings reflect Kent State’s long-standing commitment to flexible, high-quality online education. The university now offers more than 90 fully online degree and certificate programs, with a majority of students taking at least one online course.

U.S. News evaluated nearly 1,850 online programs nationwide, focusing on student engagement, faculty credentials, and support services for online learners.
