The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife is accepting submissions for the Ohio Wetlands Habitat Stamp art competition through Feb. 1, 2026. The winning artwork will be featured on the 2027 Ohio Wetlands Habitat Stamp.
Ohio is one of the few states that continues to feature hand-painted artwork on its wetlands (duck) stamp. Artists may depict any Ohio-native waterfowl species except hooded mergansers, bufflehead, or American wigeon, which appeared on the previous three stamps. The competition is open to U.S. residents ages 18 and older.
A panel of judges with conservation expertise will select the winner on Feb. 14. The selected artist will receive a $4,000 service contract.
Entries may not exceed 18 inches wide by 13 inches high and must be mounted on a single white mat with a 2.5-inch border and protected by a removable acetate or cellophane cover. All two-dimensional art mediums are accepted except digital art and photography. Complete contest rules and a list of eligible species are available at wildohio.gov.
