A 41-year-old man will spend 11 to 15 years in prison for intentionally running over another man outside an Akron gas station, according to Summit County prosecutors.

Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich announced the sentence for Thomas Felber, who pleaded guilty to two counts of felonious assault stemming from the attack at the Circle K on West Market Street in May 2025.

Investigators say a verbal altercation escalated, but the victim attempted to walk away and leave the scene. Felber then got into his vehicle, backed up, made a U-turn, and intentionally struck the victim, dragging him beneath the car before reversing and running him over a second time.

Bystanders intervened to stop a third strike. One citizen slashed Felber’s tires to prevent him from fleeing and provided 911 dispatchers with real-time updates, helping officers quickly locate and arrest him.

Kolkovich called the attack “abhorrent,” saying the victim now faces lasting physical injuries and trauma. Prosecutors say surveillance video and witness statements confirmed the attack was deliberate.
