Families supporting a loved one with a mental health condition often have questions, and NAMI Summit County is offering a place to get answers and support.

The NAMI Summit County is now registering for its Family-to-Family course, a free educational program designed specifically for family members and close friends of people living with mental health conditions.

The eight-week course begins Jan. 14, and meets once a week from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Community Support Services, located at 150 Cross Street.

Led by trained family members who have lived experience, the program covers a wide range of topics, including how mental health conditions affect the brain, how to respond during a crisis, current treatment options, and the impact mental illness can have on the entire family. Participants also learn practical skills like problem-solving, effective communication, stress management, and how to support loved ones with compassion while taking care of themselves.

The course is offered at no cost, and all materials are provided. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.

To register or learn more, you can email NAMI at programs@namisummit.org or call them at: 330-252-1188.
