The Student Athlete of the Week segment is powered by NECA-IBEW and Akron Children’s Hospital.
This week’s athletes are from Revere High School.
Gabi Iler is on the school’s tennis team. Her accomplishments include: 4 year varsity member, 3 year 1st singles, 2025 Suburban League 1st singles champion, 2025 Suburban League player of the year, 3 year MVP, 3 year Suburban League 1st team, and 2 year captain. She also works as a tennis coach and helps run Revere’s youth tennis camp.Gabi has a 4.66 weighted GPA, is the National Honor Society Volunteer Chair, and plans to attend an undecided university to study political science and international law. She stays busy with extracurriculars: President and Founder of Revere Student Voices (student advocacy club), President of Students Demand Action (national gun violence prevention organization), President of Summit Choral Society (Akron’s premier children’s choir), President of International club, member of Class Council.
Will Wells is a 3 sport athlete, track, cross country, and basketball. Will’s accomplishments include: 2 time all Ohio in cross country and was all Ohio last year in track placing 5th at the state meet with a time of 4:13 in the mile. He most recently broke the cross country (5k) school record with a time of 15:05. Will has a cumulative GPA of 3.61 and has taken many honors and AP classes. After a long recruiting process, Will just recently chose to commit to The Ohio State University to run track and cross country. He plan to study business finance, and possibly minor in international business at the Fisher College of Business.
