Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich has announced the winners of the 25th Annual Safety Kids Calendar Contest, which teaches students the “12 Rules for Staying Safe” through original artwork created by 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students across the county.

This year’s grand prize winner is Kadin Nguyen, a 6th-grader from Green Middle School. His poster, illustrating the rule “Don’t Give In to Peer Pressure,” will appear on the cover of the 2026 Safety Kids Calendar and on billboards throughout Summit County.

The contest drew more than 1,000 submissions from 16 schools. A panel of community leaders, including mayors, police chiefs, legal professionals, and healthcare and social services experts, selected 57 total winners, who were honored at a ceremony at the Akron-Summit Library on Nov. 12.

Prosecutor Kolkovich said the contest helps promote safety awareness while giving students a chance to be creative.

Two additional categories, the “Prosecutor’s Picks,” recognized posters chosen personally by Kolkovich for their humor or creative messaging.

All winners received certificates and Amazon gift cards, and the Miller South School Choir performed during the event.
