Community members are invited to pay it forward at KNR’s Annual Coats & Cans Turkey Giveaway today (Nov. 11). It’s the 13th annual event at KNR’s Akron office (3412 W. Market St. in Fairlawn).

Beginning at 11 a.m., donate a gently used coat or non-perishable food item to the Akron office in exchange for a free Thanksgiving turkey, while supplies last.

All donated items will benefit the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana, supporting local families in need, a mission especially meaningful on Veterans Day.

Since it began, the Coats & Cans event has provided more than 600,000 meals and distributed more than 12,000 turkeys to families across northeast Ohio.
