The long arm of the law didn’t have to reach all that far to catch a suspected killer this week.

That’s because 44 year old David Miller was already in the Summit County Jail for Assault and Violating Probation.

Now, he’s also charged with Murder and Abuse of a Corpse in connection with the death of 58 year old Clarence Shockey, whose body was found on April 9, near the railroad tracks in the 100 block of North Union Street.

Akron Police say Detectives found forensic evidence to connect Miller to the crime, and that it suggests that the victim had been beaten and strangled.
